Senator David Mark, the President of the 7th Senate and Chairman of the 7th National Assembly, was re-elected as the Senate president for the second time at the floor of the Senate chambers, on the 6th of June 2011. Being the first Senate President to have returned to the red carpets of the Senate chambers, he has vowed to continue delivering the dividends of democracy as expected from his office. He promises just as he mentioned in his inaugural speech, to provide more dividends in this dispensation and exceed the achievements made in the previous dispensation. He thanked the former leadership of the Senate (Principal Officers and members) for their understanding and good efforts made available to him in steering the affairs of the Senate, and has vowed to work harder in maintaining the sanity, credibility, integrity and image of the Senate before Nigerians.
